June 23 & 24 – Smithfield Olden Days Festival

Enjoy an old-fashioned, family-friendly good time at Smithfield’s Olden Days Festival on Friday & Saturday, June 23 & 24.

Dance the night away on Friday night with two FREE concerts! Anthony Snape at 6 pm at the Bank of Southside VA (115 Main Street) and Ocean Breeze at the Smithfield Times Gazebo from 7 -9 p.m.

Carry home a treasure from the popular Vintage Alley along South Mason Street, enjoy a chat with a spirit on the Historic Ghost Walk, or imagine yourself behind the wheel of one of the Hot Rods lined up along Main Street for the Hot Rods Cruise-In Car Show – all happening on Friday night. The Ghost Walk begins and ends at the 1750 Courthouse, but is a ticketed event and sells out fast, so get your tickets at the Visitor Center (319 Main Street) SOON!

Kick off the day on Saturday morning with the “Kids, Bike & Pet Parade!” Lineup begins at 9:30 a.m. on Underwood Lane and the Parade begins at 10. The Vintage Alley will continue on Mason Street and Smithfield’s award-winning or Farmers Market will take place in its usual spot. Pig-out on some great festival food, visit the children’s area at Joyner Field for pony rides, dunking booth, face painting and more.

Olden Days also features plenty of great music: Karl Wearne & the Lazar Brothers will perform at the Smithfield Times Gazebo at 11:00 a.m. and festival favorite Tootie will return and play at 1:30 p.m. NEW THIS YEAR: Clan MacCool Roving Irish Musicians will stroll through downtown Smithfield from 3 – 4 p.m.

Finish up Saturday by cheering on your favorite in the Annual Pagan River Raft Race taking place at the Smithfield Station at 2:30 p.m.!

What a great way to kick off your family’s summer of 2017.
