Another Cash Award announced for our 2016 Photo Contest

Big catch 1

BIG NEWS! We’re adding a new category and an additional $100 cash prize to our 2016 Photo Contest.

The theme is still “The Faces of Smithfield & Isle of Wight County,” but we will award the $100 to the image that best portrays these faces in one of the county’s many parks & sites: Nike, Camptown, Riverview and Robinson, Fort Boykin, Fort Huger, the Nike SK8 Park, OR enjoying one of our Parks & Recreation Department activities such as soccer, baseball, picnics, tennis, movie night, the Easter Egg Hunt, or the County Fair!

We’re also going social this year! ALL entries must be submitted as a comment on the timeline of our Facebook page – Visit Smithfield VA – and include the hashtag #visitsmithfieldva.

We will be awarding a $150 Prize to the Grand Prize winner!
We will also select second, third and honorable mention photos.

All awards will be announced at our National Tourism Month Breakfast at the Smithfield Center on Monday, May 16 at the Visitor Center. Finalists in the contest will be notified in advance and invited to the breakfast where The Grand Prize winner will be announced. The winning entry, with photo credit, will be featured on one of our promotional pieces. Additionally, entries in the contest will be displayed at the Arts Center@319.

Who are the faces of our town and county? Where are our beautiful, iconic places? Grab your cameras and snap away! Find that special shot that reminds visitors and residents alike that this is the home of “Hams, History, Hospitality and HeART!”

Deadline for entries is Wednesday, May 4, 2016 at 5:00 p.m.
