Lots of wonderful holiday events are planned around Christmas in Smithfield. You won’t want to miss one!
The Isle of Wight County Museum kicks off the festivities on Friday by hosting An Evening with St. Nick from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. Little ones can enjoy a reading of Clement Clarke Moore’s ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas – plus holiday refreshments, crafts and activities. Saturday & Sunday:
Christmas in Smithfield will also offer tours of three Historic Homes in downtown all decked out for the season! A Free Shuttle will be available throughout the day in downtown and from Historic St. Luke’s Church. Tickets are available online and at the door. Mansion on Main Bed & Breakfast will host “Victorian Traditions” presented by costumed interpreters the Dixie Belles, and a book signing by author Doris Rae Gwaltney.
Smithfield Farmers Market’s “Christmas Craft and Food Market” will be held on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at the Bank of Southside Virginia in downtown Smithfield.
A Crafts Bazaar (Saturday only) and ornament sale will be held during Christmas in Smithfield at the Schoolhouse Museum.
A Lionel Toy Train Display at the Isle of Wight/Smithfield/Windsor Chamber of Commerce will be a treat for the young and the young-at-heart.
And to close out the weekend, join us for a (free!) “Sing We Now of Christmas Concert” on Sunday at 6:00 p.m. at Trinity United Methodist Church, featuring an hour of seasonal music followed by a caroling procession to the 1750 Courthouse for cider and sweets.
