The Isle of Wight County Fair opens next Thursday, Sept. 17th at Heritage Park in Windsor, and runs through Sunday, Sept. 20th.
The Fair always offers terrific musical entertainment, and this year is no exception with The Deloreans, Strictly Bizzness and Hotel California – “A Salute to the Eagles” Tribute Band on Friday. The Silver Street Band, The Fuzz Band, Luke Willette, Boot Rooster Band, and Thompson Square will play on Saturday, and Soul Intent, and The Shuganamutha Band on Sunday.
For the family, there’s Agri-Puppets, Star Dust Circus & Thrill Show, Tangled Threads, and the Birdman, as well as our ever-popular Mid-Way. Along with the much-loved Ferris wheel and other Mid-Way thrills, there be pony and camel rides, monster truck and mechanical bull rides, and face painting. You can purchase Mid-Way tickets online for a reduced cost or at the fair.
Competitions will include Bull Riding, a Custom Car Show, a Truck & Tractor Pull, an Antique Tractor Pull, and our fair-favorites the 4H competition, field and garden, heritage and livestock show and talent show!
Admission is $8 per person for adults & children (ages 6 and up). Children 5 and under are FREE! Visit the fair website to find out about “Carload Night,” “Friday Specials” for elementary school children and seniors, two and three-day passes, and “Military Appreciation Day” on Sunday.
If you’re a fan of seafood, you can be part of the pre-fair fun at Seafood Fest on Wednesday, September 16 from 4-9 pm. Advance Sale Tickets are $30, and $35 at the gate. The Band of OZ will provide the entertainment for this all-you-can-eat seafood buffet with adult beverages.
So catch a show, watch a tractor pull, enter the talent show, or enjoy the sights from the top of the giant Ferris wheel. It’s all just a quick country drive to “Boots & Roots,” and the best four days to end your summer!
